Don't remember you ever saying you had an overheating problem.

The impeller is always the FIRST thing you check on any kind of an overheat problem. Simply because it doesn't take much to destroy one.

ear muffs felloff in the driveway last week so I thought I would check the impeller and that's what I found. I have already pulled the heat exchanger apart and the thermostat and so far no pieces anywhere. What realy sucks is I just put that impeller in last season :-(

Yhe good news is that with no water the pieces didn't go far. Probably didn't make it to the thermostat housing. Would sure be worth backflushing the hoses through the transom shield. With the drive apart, you can check the passages.

I had alot of trouble sliding the new impeller over the shaft anyone ever had this problem?

Ok so I finally had some time this weekend to work on the old boat and viola its pumping water and cooling perfect..
