So, problems so far on installing the HGE Dry Manifolds and Elbows. As described above, the water ports that must be used for full closed cooling need angled connectors (the ports get plugged if not full closed cooling so shouldn't be a problem on raw water cooled systems). It looks like 45 degree fittings will work and I actually found a Mercruiser part number for these (22-865159) that I think will work so ordered those. Unfortunately, the Monitor MFH-5399 only comes with 90 degree and straight fittings. It would have been nice if Monitor included a 45 degree set for areas that are really tight on space.
The other problem with the HGE Dry Joint system so far is that the plug and port boss on the inside of the exhaust manifold hits the valve covers. Here are pictures of how I had to grind them down. I ground them down just enough that a gasket would slide between the plug/boss and the valve cover with the manifold mounted.
