Hi all,

I'm working on a couple of engines at the moment that require new bits. Merc's pricing for exhaust stuff in Australia is ridiculous, so I'm looking at alternatives. I know about GLM (Good Luck Marine ), Sierra, Barr and Osco. One of the boats I'm working on has HGE, Canadian made I believe. They seem reasonable, the gasket surfaces appear flat and true, and the internal casting mold doesn't appear to have shifted and the prices, here at least, are about 40% less than Merc's 'marine tax'...

Anyone using them?

TIA,

Chris........

I think Bondo indicated he used HGE.... going off an old memory.

Barr and Osco are OEM casters so I really like their stuff.

you could use hitek. you may get a local discount

there is also kodiak, EMI, Imco, Gil, Marine Power, Stainless Marine, Hardin Marine, Dana, and a few others that do aluminum hard anodized manifolds

I switched to Stainless Marine because I like an aluminum manifold and I can not afford Dana (got a heck of a deal on a pair of SMI's)

I did CMI for short stainless headers once - then sold the boat. in the addition to Custom Marine is Lightning and a few others

just my 2c... but GLM quality has come WAY up in the past few years... I have 2+ years on mine and no issues... I have at the end of the seasons split them to check for issues and they look great! I'm in the salt 100% of the time and have as of 2 days ago 569 hours on them... I have a few friends here that are running the GLM's as well and same results for them as well... I do after each trip on the water flush with salt away.

Thanks guys. The HGE agent is a 7 minute drive away, so I think he'll be getting a bit more business in the near future.
