I have a 1995 crownline 196 br with a 350 mag (carbed) with an alpha one gen 2 drive. I am currently running a 21p high five prop which is awesome on the hole shot ( I do alot of water sports). But when cruising it seems like I will over rev pretty easily and only be at about 40 mph. Im wondering if a high 5 is not a good cruising prop or if I need to go up to like a 23p if I plan on just cruising. Or stick with a 21p but not a 5 blade, any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi OhWellcraft, I don't have extensive knowledge when it comes to props but I know any time you change pitch up your holeshot will suffer some. You say you have a awesome holeshot so maybe going to a 23 won't change it that much?
What the more knowledgable people on here will need to know is, what is your WOT (wide open throttle) rpm, what max rpm is the motor rated for, and what is your current top speed preferably with a GPS?
Also, have you checked out any prop calculator sites and see what they suggest? There is one right here on this site as well as dansdiscountpropellers.com and turningpointpropellers.com Check those sites out and see what they suggest? Good Luck.........Irv964
