Will I get better fuel efficiency from a 3 blade SS prop over the High five at the same pitch?

Re: High 5

I have a 3 blade merc vengence and went to prop shop and asked about that, because i wanted a high 5, my boat needs to come out of the water faster, but he said that the high five would slow it down and lower ecno. so i gues it would help, i dont know what kind of boat you have but mine is about 4500lbs 23ft with 5.7 and 1.81 outdrive. what is your weight, motor, ratio, and current size prop???

Yes a 3 blade is more effecient than a 5 blade of the same pitch. If you want holeshot go with the 5 blade, but if you want a cruising prop go with the 3 blade.

:D hold on here a bit guy's. There is no defintive measure pointing towards a high five giving higher econ...not even...No matter how you define it a 5 bladed prop is a power prop..greater grip at lower speed's.

Plz someone explain how it improves econ all by itself....Opps then there's the hull and how it responds to lift..aka bow lift... stern lift let us have some order here...;)
