I am looking at a 1990 Reinell (to purchase) with 4.3L V6 and OMC outdrive. Boat was in Colorado previously and had a High Altitude Kit installed in the lower unit. Question: Anyone know what the High Altitude Kit consists of? What does it do? I'm not able to put the boat in the water yet. But it is now at sea level. What affect will the high alititude kit have at sea level? Will it need to be converted back or can I compensate with prop? Thanks, Mike

You'll end-up with prop issues...The lower unit is modified with lower gears, and it slows the rotation speed of the final drive (prop).
It "may" cause issues with cavitation due to the pitch that will be required to bring the R's down where they should be at sea-level.
Where in Colorado was the boat purchased or Ran?

It was in Denver, CO. Sounds like I better test drive this boat before I buy it. d:) By the way, do you know what the R's should be on the 4.3 L, 205 HP motor?

Thanks, Mike

I want to say 4800 max, but I can't verify that from home....
