Mikesea thanks for your reply,it's very much appreciated.I checked the cables when this problem first occured and I noticed that the throttle cable adjusting screw looked weird? I turned the plastic adjusting gizmo [at the end of the cable], both clockwise and counterclockwise ,it didn't make any difference.Was I supposed to see the actual linkage move?

Am I adjusting the throttle cable correctly?,it seemed at the time an easy fix!

I take it you are referring to the adjustment at the control box.thats an oldie,however you should see the warm up lever move,its been a long while since I messed with those boxes,hopefully someone else will come along,I suggest you stick to one topic ,this way guys can elaborate on suggestions,?I'll keep my thinking cap on
