High pressure trim cylinders

I have an MC165 with an MC1 drive, I think circa 1977 or so. I have just noted a leak on one of the trim rams. Not a gusher, but leaking some oil in drips. The leak appears to be coming from where the cylinder housing fits into the eye near near the transom end. What is the chance of effecting a repair on an oldtimer like this? I have a feeling I would be better off to purchase a new sei cylinder for $120 rather than messing about with the original. My trim pump seems to work just fine, but it too is old. Can I replace the small diameter rams with the newer style low pressure rams? My thought being that if my pump bows out, I can buy an sei pump assembly and away we go. If the old high pressure low volume pump just ends up being a bit slower with the new rams ..... no big deal. Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks,
Alan

With the bigger (low pressure) rams and the high pressure (low volume) pump, it will just be a bit slower to raise and lower the drive...
