high voltage after R/R replacement

ok guys i did the rectifier/regulator to help stop the high voltage problem i was having and im still seeing 15.9-16.2v. i did the universal rectifer/regulator that was recomended on this board, after getting it hooked up yellow and green with ylw tracer to the stator wires and the red to the red that was on the orig. rectifier. i ended up turning the R/R a little drilled and tapped new holes and cleaned app the paint off so i have a good ground. i made sure to clean ALL connectings so those are all good. i dont know what else to look for here as i need to get this dealt with. all readings taking with a good fluke DVM. help

What size motor did you have? Also the make might be helpful.

Is this the voltage with the battery connected ? Have you replaced it with a rectifier or a regulator ? Rectifier has 4 terminals only .....If it was a rectifier and battery disconnected then its OK

It's a little high but not that dangerously high. Ran it for a little while and see if it goes down to about 14.5 to 15.5. It could be the battery has a low charge thus the regulator is allowing high voltage output. Check the level of battery water also.

may sound a little strange, my voltage was running high 15.5-16 i found some corrosion on battery + side cleaned well voltage dropped to 13.5 holding steady, i would say clean all connections well make sure tight check it again.

The voltage is with the ba tteryconnected.I replaced the rectifier with a regulator/rectifier.the engine is a 125hp 1983 force..I will clean the battery and check again
