Hit sand bar, trip won't lower

Due to hurricane Dennis I ran into a sand bar that wasn’t there before. I have a 150hp Mercury outboard with a hydraulic trim system. As soon as the motor hit I felt a slight jerk to the motor and I was able to raise the motor up with no problem and the motor will lower fine until it hits the two lower actuators. Once it hits the two lower actuators it sounds like it’s straining and the motor stops lowering for a few seconds and then lowers only slightly before stopping. (It won’t drive all the way down) Also there is no fluid lock in the trip system because when I put it in reverse the whole motor jumps up out of the water. Is there any easy fix to this or is my trip system done for.

Loosen the plug (bypass) on the starboard side of the motor bracket. This should allow the motor to come down. Retighten the screw, and then see it it will go up and down again. This usually works for me.
