hit sandbar now boat wont turn over??!

hi guys i have a 1988 sunrunner with a 350 chevy with volvo penta outdrive i think its the 290 series ...anyways i was in the boat all night and it was running really good when i decided it was time to go in i didnt notice i wasnt in the channel and i hit a sandbar (at low rpms) prob 1400 i turned the motor off and when i tried to turn it back on the starter turns but the engine wont start?? im wondering what could have caused this and is there any circut breaker or something that would go off ? thanks in advance everybody
