Re: Hole in battery

Time for a new batt. And where did all the electrolyte go that leaked out? And how did the bolt rub a hole in the batt? I mean, was it just a bolt that ended up from some where into the batt tray?

Re: Hole in battery

Luckly the boat was out of the water and I was able to quickly wash the acid out it didn't seem to bother the new Bilgkote paint [good stuff worth the money] I was pushing the battery back into place when I punched a perfect 1/4 " hole in the battery where it must have been wearing thin from last year. I have since changed that bolt so it won't happen again and fasten the battery so it won't move, little late but you learn from expereince. I will be dropping the boat in the water today after complete transom repair keeping my fingers crossed, starts good runs nice with muffs seems to shift ok so if it doesn't leak I did ok for first time doing anything like that. Thanks for all the help from this site. John
