I have a 1970's 14' Starcraft aluminum boat that I bought used toward the end of last summer. When I took it off the trailer this fall, I noticed there was a 1" hole worn in the keel where it sits on the trailer roller. Do you think I should patch it with some J.B Weld or something similar?

The beauty of aluminum boats is if you get a hole in it you can have it welded up. Find a good alum welder and fix it right. shouldn't be very expensive. Good luck

Also, the boat must be moving on that keel roller in order for it to wear.

Probably need to raise the roller a little, or make sure the boat is strapped down tighter than the previous owner did.
