does anyone know how to set the float level on a holley 4160 4 bbl that doesn't have exterior adjusters? Motor runs great at idle and up to about 2000 rpms when it begins to bog, dump fuel and lose vacuum. A mechanic friend said that I should test it in the water under a load....Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: holley 4bbl carb

Sounds like an accelerator pump problem.

my book says for float alignment:

invert the fuel bowl and measure the distance from one end of the lower edge of the float to the fuel bowl body. Compare this measurement to the other end of the lower edge. The float should hang parallel to the fuel bowl body.

Bend the curved float arm which contacts the inlet needle until the proper aligment of float to the fuel body is obtained.
