Re: Holley Carb drippping gas after shutdown
the needles are leaking, thats the only cause. whether the floats are sinking is another story, but the needles for whatever reason are not sealing, if you have externally adjustable floats its possible the oring around the valve assy is cut or damaged causing the needle assy not to seal.
common if it started after an adjustment or removal.
that "screeching" is liquid being sucked from the venturies with the throttle plates mostly closed.
pull the needle assy's for careful inspection, also inspect the gaskets on the nut and lock screw. all are replacable seperatly.
the biggest difference in the auto version VS marine is the fuel bowl vents. the vents on an auto are straight up and can allow leking fuel to run all over the intake and possibly causing a fire. the marine uses "J" tube so any leakage is directed down the carb throats. you can add the J tube if your creative.
we used them on our race motors to aid in keeping sloshed fuel under control.
but other than the J tubes there is not much difference that the USCG or ABYC cares about on a holley.
