yes and yes. Owners love the throttle response and the instant starts. Fuel economy is always better than with the carbs once it has all been dialed in properly.

Negatives:

Cost.

Owners don't usually understand the adjustments and sometime play with them themselves and really screw it up.
Holley warranty can be difficult at times but they have always come through.

How difficult was it to install and tune the system. Did many of you install a new manifold also.
Thanks Roman

So it sounds like no one actually put one in?

Oldfatbaldguy seems to have but I'm not so sure after reading his post again

About $1400 now. I'd almost want to call up Holley and ask what's up. $839 to 1399.?

I frequent a ford windsor website. Several people have used the different variations of the system and have nothing but good to report. Much better than a carb.

I think it's a good idea overall. Just a bit paroniod... you know, looking for that "I did it and ..." kind of response.

I posted the same question last year on a wakeboarding board (good board IMHO) and got a very similar response. No one seems to have actually done it in a boat.

Yes I have. They are pretty easy to install. Instructions are pretty straightforward. Only once did I also install a manifold, I don't recall what it was. All others were on stock manifolds. Some were 2 bbl and some were 4 bbl. Holley supplies the adapter plates for the TBI.
Every freakin customer loved the performance. I guess they thought it was worth it, nobody ever asked to take it back off. Holley warranty is slow.

I should note other than test drives I never have compared before and after performance. Test drives seemed fine, the throttle is pretty snappy. But since I dont really know how they performed prior to the changeover I really cant comment on performance differences.

I think the superceded Holley kit now requires a 4 bbl manifold. I think it also uses 4 tbi injectors instead of the original 2. The previous version was a two bbl set up that came with an adaptor plate that you could use on 4 bbl manifold.

Re: Holley Pro-Jection - Testimonials

Not to shoot the Pro-jection system down, but I had a heck of a time trying to find replacement holley injectors after one of mine pooped out.... More than a month backorder, and about $100 for each injector..

Could'nt wait a month, so I took the holley injector assembly off and modified a junkyard GM tbi injector assembly to fit the holley throttle body... Replacement injectors are as close as the local auto parts house, and the cost for GM replacement injectors is less than half of holleys.. (auto application)

Another system you might look into is the Marine TBI set up from Turbo City... Better parts availablity, IMO..
http://www.turbocity.com/default.php?cPath=16_22

That pretty much sums up the Holley warranty, Snapper. You have to call and rant and rave and threaten lawsuits to get them to do anything.
