holley to quadrajet adapter

Would it be bad to use a aluminum adapter. I can not find one made of cast.

I that it you are talking about a Holley square bore to a Quadra-Jet spread bore plate. If so the answer is yes. You can use an aluminum plate to change from a square bore to spread bore. HOWEVER, you have to make sure that when you install that plate that all four butterflies can open AND close without any interference involved. Otherwise they will stick and leave you with a possible wide open carb...not a good thing either. So make absolutely sure you can cycle the throttle and not have the butterflies stick at any time. In fact I think that actually sell such a change over plate just for that very change... Check with Summit.

check for line of products from transdapt, they have some good adapters.

I used a 1 barrell to 2 barrel on an old bronco and worked great, cheap too
