I made this to remove the oil line when the gimbal housing needs to be removed
WITHOUT BREAKING THE PLASTIC NIPPLE,I designed it to cut on the up stroke thru the oil line 1/2 to 3/4 in length .Replacement hose is approx 3 inches longer than oem
1/4 inch SS rod heated red hot then hammered flat. formed as shown about 14 inches long.
grind to a knife edge and hone like a razor blade.
Swing housing fully left cut thru hose and it slides right off.
For the gimbal side raise the drive fully, and there is just enough room to cut the hose off the brass nipple.

so much easier to not break that pesky plastic nipple, I also have on the board a re-engineered version of the remote oil res for Alpha1`s and GEN II`s or Bravos. The main fitting is being made and you use a power trim line from the pump and the regular GEN II res and bracket. Will post pics when I have some, fitting should sell for about $40 and you supply the rest of the parts obtained locally. Mercruiser no longer carries their or make their oem one any,ore
