Well' did I mention that the glass bowl was perfect? I had to use a torch to un-freez it from the ground. It's a shame because the lower unit fin was busted when It was recently dumped, You can tell that break was freshly done. Man what a shame huh.:(

Boy, I'm sure glad I didn't come across that find. My garage would really be junked up with MORE outboard stuff, and my wife wouldn't be happy.

A guy in our club has one of those...they are very smooth running motors if properly tuned. A parts difficult to find?

Let's put this in "Other Brands" along with your other thread. It sure isn't a JohnnyRude. :)

Yea, I had a friend of mine dump off about three of those same exact motors about 15 years ago. All three of them were in pieces too. It was enough to fill the back of my pickup truck completely. I ended up selling the whole lot and made about 50 bucks out of the deal. It was interesting looking at the little Crosley engine sitting on that lower unit though. The oil pan is facing the rear and the valve cover and carbs are looking at you. LOL It's about the equivalance of a Geo Metro engine sitting there, except it's a four banger, versus a three. The heads are non-detachable, so to work on the valves and pistons, you have to do it from the crankcase side.

How many times have you been running & doing adjustments on a old evinrude/johnson, and accidently touched the flywheel? You would only do that once with one of these. look at that thing.

If that was in my neighborhood I'd be right over.:D That engine is a '67 and is more "Bearcat" than Homelite as at this time it was owned by Fisher-Pierce. The block should be an "A block" with hardened valve seats. Ready to run unleaded gas about four years before "Arco Clear" came on the market. Cooling system is updated, some changes to the lower unit with a threaded pinion gear.

Don't know of anyone in Redmond, OR who sells and repairs them, Ed Ewing in Redding, CA might be who you are thinking of. I really like all of mine, I can troll or go and it's excellent on fuel.
