Just came across a old homelite 4 cycle outboard out at the dump, Its in pretty ruff shape, so I left it there. Does anyone have any interest in any small parts that might be on this thing? it seems to be mostly complete, carbs, starter, coil, lower unit (prop is busted) its seen salt water and the hood is missing, lower hood pan is busted where whoever dumped it out of their truck. Anyway I know these are not that common, the guy at the dump is a friend and said I could take it if I want. cheers.

You may want to ask on the Antique Outboard Motor Club website also.

1946zephyr' You know I want to! I just don't know what I would do with it, I already have so many project outboards it's not funny. But If I can get the parts to someone who can bring another oldie back I will, I am going to go get some photo's of it in the next couple days & I'll post'em.

Yea, I just woke up another one of my oldies today. 1947 Sea King 5hp. It's a sweet runner too. :D:D

I like those old smaller ones like that, I started displaying some of mine this past summer in front of my place alongside my for sale rack, and now folks are starting to bring (give) them to me, A fellow pulls up in the yard last month and says do ya want this its been in my garage for at least 20 years, a nice dusty 57 Jonny 5 & 1/2. Just bought new rings ,gaskets, ignition etc. from Seaway! I'll start on her when I finish the Bigtwin.

There you go. Awesome idea. Those things are getting kind of rare now.

I don't know much about the value of vintage outboards, but with today's prices it would seem like just the scrap value would make it worth lugging home.

Here's the problem' I live on Kodiak Island' 200 miles of the Alaska mainland... Shipping fine American steel from here is very costly! That's why in the original post I state any SMALL PARTS. if it fits it ships (flat rate). That's about all I can do from up here. Hey you know what I am the proud owner of?? Yep an original Homelite outboard Glass sediment bowl'' not a chip in it. I have decided to go get the rest, I cannot help it.... its a sickness! I will post some photo's.

Oh well, lik JB said, you can part the rest out and make a few bucks. No harm in that.
