I just bought (used) a honda push mower 5hp, any idea on spark plug gap & what weight oil to use in the crankcase...
I estimate that it is 5-8 years old & will post the serial # when I go to the new house.....JK

Re: Honda lawnmower

.024-.028 should get you close and 10W30 weight oil will be fine.... When you get the numbers, head here for specifics and downloadable manuals

hondapowerequipment.com/OWN_LAW/law_own.htm

10w 30 is fine. But a plain 30w is better. like esso extra 30w.

As stated go with the 30W. This is a lawn mower, not a car. No need for 10w-30...................

Honda recommends 10-30 oil and .028-.031 plug gap on the 5hp.

I use Mobil1 oil in mine and it's still a one pull start motor after 5 years.
