honda 90hp 1998. running this mtr. on a barge, have a 14" diam prop with 11" pitch and i can only get 4200rpm. anyone got any suggestions on how to get the rpm up in the 5500/6000 range. (can,t find any props listed lower in pitch than what i have)

Re: honda prop

smaller diameter or stainless. Maybe a three blade if you're running a four.<br />The perfect solution would be to change the gearcase ratio.

Re: honda prop

thanks majbach, ok so smaller diam = increased rpm. might try that first before going to stainless, if i can find a smaller 11" pitch. we have got to do something, this mtr sounds like it is really lugging when running wot. gearcase ratio change sounds expensive. we have played with the the height and a little bit with set back. anything outher than all the way down and the prop just blows out. any way thanks again.

Re: honda prop

If you can lower the motor , you might be able to get a better angle of thrust without blowing out.
