Honda Remotes

It appears older Honda small outboard with no tilt used a remote with 11 single wires. It appears later Honda remotes have 14 wires arranged in bulk plug ins.

Anybody ever just use the 11 wires you need on the newer remotes with the older engines?

The older owners manual have a wring diagrams. The newer owners manuals do not have a wiring diagram. If I do this does anyone have a wiring diagram for the newer remotes?
