Bidding is up to over $2K and reserve hasn't even been met. It has not engine or outdrive and you don't even get the trailer! who in their right mind would pay that kind of money for that boat in that condition?

People will buy anthing put on e-bay. Someone will buy this, get it home and then discover that the damage is three times greater than the size of the hole. They will then probably do a quickie patch job, stick a new drive on it and you will see it on e-bay in the spring as a bargan at $20,000.

I think I have an old chunk of fiberglass in the garage, I should put it on e bay for the successful bidder as a "patch" :p

haha :)

if he asked for an estimate, i'd have to chuckle. he'd probably be looking at 15 grand in labor $75 x 200 hrs probably... minimum...

i have done a couple of storm crashs like that in the past tho. a Grady with a similar hole, forget what bill was, think the other was a Renker...

i transfered over Mack truck repair technology to do those. 2 part foam as a sculptable backing. shave it down, do the repair, remove foam backing, etc... ton of work and hard to get just right...

someones gonna be in for a rude awakening when they get that home

I posted this on another message board i frequent a few days ago.

How you can miss a bouy big enough to do that to a boat that size, even drunk, is beyond me.

I was thinking the same thing. And how did he avoid any damage at all below the deck if he hit it that hard and that fast? Maybe the boat is just a thin piece of junk...

Looks strange to me, maybe the guy just wanted to get the insurance money.

Visit the upcomming boat shows and a few marinas.
Watch those that buy these things new and shiny; and you will understand how it happened. Some of them are not any worse sober or drunk.
Then there are accidents.
But this was totalled by the insurance company and that tells a whole story as to the value. Damage to hull to deck joints is major.
Repair to that area is horrible.
Odds are that the boat was purchases from the ins company and all of value was removed, the engines. Now it is being offered!
And they are not giving it away!
Ryoken summarized it nicely.

Hey, don't knock it...

I'd love to have that.. I've move into it and live there.. even got room to hoon around in the car....

best of all, if PWC users annoy you, you can just run over them with no ill effects...
(or drop something on them over the side.)

rgds

Franki

That would be one of those too good to be true happenings.....I wouldn't mind a boat like that..
By the way it says buyer responsible for shipping? Now how would that happen? You'd turn a lot of heads taking that thing on an interstate or expressway..haha
