hooking up new batteries

I have installed 3 new batteries for my 36 volt trolling motor The motor is now working but I have three sets of wires left over they look like they hook up to only one battery is it possible to hook something that only requires 12 volts within a 36 volt system? also, the positive wire to the trolling motor has what looks like a breaker and one of the wires that just goes from a neg to a pos has a fuse type link in it help please!!

Pics would really help or a sketch at least of what you have.
How many wires does the trolling motor have?
do you have a onboard multi-bank charger unit installed?
was the boat wired for a 36v trolling motor or is this something you added?

Is there a battery monitoring panel?
Each battery would have a set of wires if there is one.
Are they numbered pairs?
