I have a mercury 30 hp fourstroke engine not EFI. I noticed on the mercury website that the 30 hp and 40 hp fourstroke engines are Identical in all aspects such as displacement, stroke, rpm, etc except horsepower. I want to know if mercury uses a restriction system on the 40 hp to make it a 30 hp and if that can be removed in order to convert the 30 hp into a 40 hp. thanks for your input ahead of time.
