Horsepower reccomendations for my 21' Center Console Osprey?

Hey everyone. Just wondering everyone would recommend for engine size and also shaft size for my 1994 Osprey 21' Center Console?!?

I will be using it for lake fishing as well as taking it to Florida every now and then for Flats fishing off the Gulf Shores.

My transom height is 25 inches so I am assuming that is also my reccomended shaft size? Thank you all.

What does transom's tech plate indicate. Max HP, max number of passengers ? That's a good starting point..

So far I haven't looked good enough to find the tech plate... Not sure if it's missing or not... Guy I bought it from said it previously had a 235 on it but that's a bit big isn't it?

That sounds a bit big. 150 HP would probably be a good match. Still be interested to hear what the max rated HP is. They say 70% or better of max rated is best for decent performance.

Sweet. That's what I was thinking about getting.

Do you know anything about shaft size? Couldn't I get a 20" shaft 150 from a bass boat and just install an adjustable mount on my transom and lower my engine 5"?

There are XL sizes market available, a matter to check if all OB brands stocks them..

I can't either haha. I guess they sold their company shortly after becoming reputable. This Sunday I will look for an ID plate and let you guys know. It's in my father in laws warehouse about an hour away.

Aquasport made several Osprey models in 1994. None of which where 21 ft.

They made a model 200 (130hp) and a model 225 (200 hp).

What model is your boat?

Its not an Aquasport. The Company Osprey made boats and in 2005 they went bankrupt. They Sold their plans and Schematics to a Company Called SeaSport. They then took over and continued making Osprey's boats under their name and still are making fantastic boats today, Apparently. Its supposedly A 1994 Osprey Inc. 22' Center Console. Ive been trying to find out some more info on it but its very limited.... Scott Posted a Wiki of iboats Ospreys on file and cant find anything but I clicked on "other Osprey Models 1994" and it shows a 22' 1994 that ran a 220 HP Outboard.
