Hose t

1972 225 HP omc Slickcraft

I want to install a T fitting so I can run the engine with out using a 55 gal drum of water to keep the outdrive in . My unit DOES NOT HAVE THE HOSE CONNECTION.

Which hose do I install the T into, they both go into the thermostat housing one is above the thermostat and the other is below.

Which side of the engine if it matters.

NO! There should be a hose from the drive housing to the thermostat housing.

it runs to the exhaust manifold elbow first on the 1972 225. Yes, I would tee it into the hose that comes off the nipple on the top of the intermediate housing and runs into the elbow. That way you are as close to the impeller as you can be.
