How does it run on the garden hose? Does it get hot or can you operate it for 15 minutes without overheat? I believe the main drive impeller provides cooling water when in the water. Not sure, but you might check the condition of the hoses that connect the impeller housing to the engine cooling circuits. I know it is tight quarters in the hull, but try to find the hose, it may be kinked or broken. I do not own a wave venture, but 10 years ago I had a wave rider with the same 701cc engine - and it was awesome. Enjoy the rest of the season.
