Hi,
I’m rebuilding my 1996 Force 50 and upon disassembly noticed the connecting rods are blue on the wrist pin end i guess from piston heat ( pistons were toast from cooling failure) should i replace these rods?

lack of lubrication would cause bluing

without seeing the rods, I would recommend that you replace the rods.

Post a pic.of the rods and pistons?
To get hot enough to turn them blue??
That would have to be really hot.
Did the pistons melt?
