if its hot that you cant stand to keep your hand under the water then yes - but the water will be fairly warm when running on the ear muffs - is the stream good ? if the head is getting hot to where it burns yo could have some crud clogging up in there - carefully remove the water jacket bolts and check it out in that case - more outboards are killed by overheating than anything else - and i've seen enough thru my buddys shop to know - also its a good idea to get a temp guage for it .
