Mine's the exact same size it was last year---6.5 feet. It's artificial (and, No, I'm not a tree-hugger, hehehe).<br />Happy Christmas to all, and a Merry New Year, too!
Mine is on it's 5th year. Everthing looks the same as it did the past 5 years. We just fold up the lower branches to get it into the basement and then wrap it up in plastic. We add severl new ornaments every year though. Its a 7 footer.....SS
Was planning on getting our's tomorrow usally around 7.5 feet. But I got a Question for you guys with the artificial's. The wife is thinking of going with one of the prelite artificials when they go on sale this year. Do you like them and what should we look for and stay away from when considering them???
We've had a real tree, usually 8' tall, forever. This year we're putting up the first artificial tree. See how it goes. When I was a single I lived for years without a Christmas tree...
Just bought a little pre-lit 4 footer this year. Set atop end table in front of picture window. Everyone thinks I got a big one. (tree). Made some minature sandbags out of sanwich bags to weigh the legs down.<br />Works great! Cats are staying out of it, like never before and the dogs tails don't screw up all of the ornimants!
10" tall, ceramic, next to the computer.<br /><br />There are about 300, 3' to 50'ers out in the yard, haven't cut one yet, probably settle on one about 5-6'. Most likely a balsam, as my spruce are either too big or too small. <br /><br />I don't much care what it looks like, just like the smell.<br /><br />My parrots will have fun chewing it apart after xmas.
neumanns, sorry, Bud, but I can't help with your question. Mine isn't pre-lit and I tear it down and box it up every year to save space. Waiting until the sales after Christmas is s-m-a-r-t, though.

I just picked up a 7 foot blue spruce. I havn't had a tree in the last several years, havn't had a need, but I have always put lights up outside. I wanted a tree this year though, just because. Our company started doing professional exterior Christmas lighting for homes and businesses a few years back, so after doing several houses, the last thing I usually wanted to see was more Christmas stuff, but this year I am more in the spirit.
Jason, blue spruces' are my favorite. The lake I was raised on in Upstate N.Y. was nothing but blue spruces. Every year, Dad would take us five kids through the woods with the tobaggon in tow and to topple the spruce of our choice. One year, Dad had a little too much snake bite juice and fell out of the tree. Another year, he put the tree on the suburban backwards and by the time we got home it looked like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree and Mom none to happy.<br /><br />I miss those days and the fond memories of our adventures of getting a Christmas tree each year. Since I moved to the beach 12+ years ago, it didn't make any sense to put up a tree that had been cut a month ago and cost $100+, and have the needles fall off in a day. Its really a fire hazzard too. Now we put up a fake 7' Washington Fir the weekend after Thanksgiving. I sure miss having the smell of a fresh blue spruce tree in the house. Your posts brought back some nice memories, thanks.
Got my yearly 8' blue spruce a week ago. "If it doesn't touch the ceiling, it ain't big enough" ...This year's is especially prickly though. Decorating went something like this.."ouch..OW!....ouch..ouch...OUCH!...son of a b*tch!...OUCH!
