Personally I don't care much for politics, but lately I've noticed that a great deal of our posts get politically involved in one way or another.

What do you think of having a political forum?
I think it would be nice to have all our moans, groans and ideas in one place.

All in favor?

What would we call it if approved?

H.

Homerr, I think all this whining is pushing the the limits of our Host. Dockside Chat was formed exactly for that purpose.

I think if one has that thin of skin they should stay out of the forum. I realize that a certain amount of decorum should be excercized by all, but this recent spate of crybabies is beyond reason.

Besides, there is nothin wrong with discussin a little conservative politics to cure what's wrong with things today! ;)

I would prefer the old sat. night fights Homer.
2 members put on the gloves and fight it out
with a live cam here on iboats... LOL :p
or maybe the IWWBA (iboats world wrestlin assoc.)

seriously, this forum is set up just for those
type of discussions IMHO.

I must concur here.

The forum name "Dock Side Chat"

Is a little misleading.

If I was ever at dock side and the chat sounded like what it sounds like here I would definately not go back to that dock!!!

I am not saying the talk should be stifled but when I think Dock side chat I think of a bunch of friends sitting on the dock in chairs by their boats in their slips talking about their day of fishing or day on the water.Maybe making plans for some more travels or just having friendly conversations and laghing it up enjoying the boating lifestyle.

I dont think of people getting into political arguements and calling each other names and having the Dock manager (forum moderator) come down to break up the fight.

Just my thoughts. :)

Ladyfish,
I absolutely agree.

All I am saying is people might not be finding what they are expecting to find if they open a forum called Dockside chat.

Unless of course you hang out on commercial docks I geuss.

Once again I agree completely.

I dont think the topics here should be stopped I just thought a good point was brought up on maybe a different forum name.

If it doesnt , it doesnt I just agree with the point made. ;)

Discussions of social and political subjects are welcome here, as long as they remain discussions. . .exchange of views. . .

If they become, as they sometimes do, exchanges of insults and vitriol, then moderators will intervene as drastically as they judge necessary to restore peace and order.

Fair enough? :)
