I went to pull my boat out of storage on Sunday. I put the (charged) battery back in, heard all the familiar whirrs and clicks, but when I hit the switch on the transom to lift the outdrive I got nothing. No clicks, not whirrs, like there was no juice flowing to the t/t motor. Same thing at switch on the throttle.
I checked for juice at throttle (yes), and at both relays. (yes and yes) Probably a bad motor, yes?
I feel around back there and I can neither see nor feel anywhere the wires go through the transom to the motor/pump. I take the pump cover off (hello hyraulic fluid) to try and get to the motor to test it directly. I can't get the motor out far enough to disconnect the wires. I can feel them, but it is incredibly cramped. On the other hand, when I'm in the engine compartment, where I think the pump should be there is just transom. There's obviously no way, short of pulling off all exhaust hoses, to get to it from the inside. I'm afraid to pull too hard on it for fear of breaking a perfectly good pump.
Any other possibilities here? Any help/guidance here is appreciated.
