Re: How can I tow this?

This may have already been mentioned but here in Miami you can rent a truck for $19.99 per day. Say 10 trips per summer season = $200.00. Hell of a lot cheaper that buying -
Which company is this? Are they local or a national chain?

Since my situation is somewhat similar I'll jump on this thread.

I'm looking into a 26' boat and own a gas guzzling V8. The problem is that I was about to trade the gas guzzling V8 for a electric vehicle (that can't tow). So now I either keep the V8, keep the V8 and lease an EV (gas savings would cover lease costs), sell the V8 and get the EV and rent a tow vehicle, or store it at the marina. The only reason I'm not jumping on the V8 & EV combo is the increased insurance costs. Marina storage will run about $3K per year  Uhaul is ridiculous @ $30/day + .20/mile. I guess I'm keeping the V8 and will forgo the EV for now.

Anyway, maybe that info helps the OP.

More along the line of
19.99@ day (which varies from company to company and with size of vehicle)
70cents a mile (approximately)
+fuel

Why not keep the V8 and also get the EV

Me? Money. Replacing the V8 with the EV saves money (until I add in the tow vehicle expenses). If the V8 was old and ugly it's insurance would be cheap, but it's not and it's more than I want to spend. If a EV/V8 combo costs me $200/month that's $200 I could have spent boating.

Can you rent a slip for the season? If so, you can rent a truck by the hour from Home Depot / Lowes, and drop it off at the beginning of the year. Then rent again to pick it up and place it in storage. There are several people at the local marina that do that.
