How can this be done.

On a board I visit once in a while I have found some post that have my Id on them but I did not post them. How can this be done?? Everything is just as if I had posted it myself, like someone stole my ID. I am baffled and mighty PO'ed right about now. I sent mail to the adminstrator with no reply as of yet.

Can you still login using the same user name and PW?? If you can , delete the post , (or edit to remove all of the text). The go into your profile on that forum and change your password.<br /><br />If you can't login (wrong PW) perhaps your account was cancelled for inactivity and someone else re-registered using your login name.

Nope account was still active. When I go to the phoney post and then click on the profile tab my info comes up. I just want to know how someone could do this. I am kinda upset over this. Sort of like an invasion of privacy.

Pretty easy to do if you know how. Certain Forum boards especially. I won't say how, but if you're a systems person and have set fourums up before it's pretty easy to figure. More than anything else it's the skill level of the person setting up the system. Lack of that skill level is what makes people like me get paychecks. <br /><br />-Roger
