Just like anything, Ryan, you get used to it. For the last 17 years I've worked in dispatching. No windows, artificial lights (dimmed), computer screens, 16 different radios screamin', phones ringing, sometimes for a 30 hrs stretch during storms. Before that, I was a lineman for 14 years, working day & night, hot & cold, and usually more than 40' off the ground. We didn't have many buckets, so I was usually in the belt-n-hooks. Now that I'm old (50? Old?) I realize that if I knew I was gonna live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself,
<br />Do yourself a favor---get as much education as you can. Learn a trade or profession, get good at what you do, show up every day on time, show some effort and interest and pride in your workmanship, and you'll do just fine.
