I have a '74 inline 6 150hp Mercury outboard. There is a small hose that goes to a water pressure gauge that hooks into a fitting between the 3rd and 4th spark plugs. The fitting also hooks up to the "pee hole". The small hose is leaking, and the pressure gauge isn't correct. How the heck do I reattach this thing? This is the fitting:

The small hose goes into the center of that, then that is screwed into another fitting on the engine block. Problem is the hose doesn't really fit through the center...how is this thing suppost to work?!

not really sure but there should be a small brass collar that goes around the tube when tighteing the fitting it should squeeze down on the tube inside the fitting

Thats a compression fitting.
unscrew the nut, don't damage the threads.
Take out the brass sleeve.
Go to the hardware store and get a new sleeve.
Slide the tube thru the large nut, then the compression sleeve. inslall the big part into the engine. Place the tube and sleeve into the fitting, put the nut on. As you tighten the nut, it compresses the sleeve onto the tubing.

If the tubing is all bent up or crushed, cut a little off so the sleeve has something to grip.

That fitting is a bit chewed up. You may want to replace it.
