Just doing some post season maintenance on my first boat. I noticed that the flame arrestor was dirty on the outside of it. Just wondering the best way to clean this without just washing the dirt closer to the inside and ultimatly closer to the carb?? Thank you.

Yep, gotta take it off to clean it good. I used a hose and compressed air which got most of the crud out.

Thank you! I was thinking along the same lines, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Welcome aboard!
Take the arrestor off the carb. then squirt it good with carb cleaner. You can rinse with water then I finish with carb cleaner and blow dry. Should be nice and clean.

Simple Green, Purple Power or even Dawn Detergent.
But remove and then clean.
A hose is all I use.
Compressed air is nice too.
