Tilt tube/splashwell/transom mount steering??? I know you probably think I am being blond but I am trying to organise the cables for the steering and have come to the conclusion I need to buy a part to connect the steering cable to the engine. I assume some sort of push rod or similar??? Do I have op-tions or is this governed by some part on my engine? If so, what am I looking for please.

John, this is the proper set up for tilt tube steering, it sounds like you need the engine link from the cable end to the motor. they are specific for each brand of motor. you need to specify what motor you have when you order. and i do not recommend a sharp bend, like in the picture, as it makes the steering very hard. but was the only option on this boat.

Thanks tashasdaddy, again, lol! You must have answered about 10 of my 1,000,000 questions since buying this boat. I don't know how much you guys get paid but the information you have given me has been priceless and this sit as a resource is invaluable. (not as good as money but hell, thanks is all I have left to give, lol) Let me just get this straight. I think that somehow my steering cable (which is ordered, teleflex qc) will connect somehow into the tilt tube and be held in place by some sort of nut which will fit on the thread on the port side of the tube. It will somehow connect to a link arm assembly which will in turn be connected to the lever that sits at the stern side of the engine that has a hole in it.(the lever, not the engine I hope!!!) If I am right I will probably have to connect the cabe to the link arm assembly somehow before the link arm is set in place. Is that about the height of it???
