I have a Keikheifer merc 300 that we can not get it to go into nuetral or reverse. When we got it it all workrd but them a nut dropped off into the lower unit. We removed the lower unit , removed the nut and reinstalled. Once we did that nothing worked. We took back apart turned the gear and that shifter worked. Once we started it up we noticed that we had all forward and no nuetral or reverse. We have worked on it turning the spline shaft every which way but still nothing. When running it clicks like it wants to go into reverse but will not. Can anyone tell me exactly how to align the 2 sleaves and what position to put the spline shaft in? I have no manual and not sure were to get one. Any help will be great.
