I am new to the boating part of recreational activities, how can I; or where do i look to get the necessary information about my boat so i can research it and stuff? I am bout one day old on the boating, got it cheap, and noticed some gauges dont work and a hose on the drive is torn, wanna be able to square it away before i drop it in the water and end up sinking or something.
Thanks

Re: How Do I Get Boat Info??

You definately need to identify your boat and engine.

There should be a HIN (hull id number) from the mold (look at boat rear).

Your engine and outdrive should carry some sort of model/make numbers.

If all else fails, post pictures and folks here will most liely be able to help. If you are going to DIY, you will need (and benefit) from a manual for the engine. Can be ordered from this site, once the thing has been ID'ed.

You still have not provided info on make & model.

Provided the cooling water pickup will be sufficiently supplied with water by fitting muffs, it will be alright to run the engine in a modest way - up to fast idle at some 1500 rpm
