How do i get in touch with mods

Are you using a computer at work? Perhaps one that may have restricted websites? You should probably at least track down and private message one of the moderators to ask them to move your question out of the Volvo I/O forum.

iboats has some blocks of IP addresses blocked due to spam, where are you located?

Use the "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page. I think that puts you in touch with the site admins.

A proxy server is a server that you send a request to and then it forwards your request. You either need PKI or a password to authenticate to the proxy server. No public website has a proxy server in front of it or no one would ever know it was there. You'll see them in front of intranets that have a forward facing access point but never in front of an internet web server. Proxy servers are less common today because we have firewall appliances that can do just as good a job and are much faster.

This could be true. I block specific ip address ranges based on country of origin. It worked for a while but everbody in the nasty people business spoofs a US address so it only blocks the rookies and the innocent.

Just to clarify, I don't work and am not affilliated with iBoats but I am a qualified expert on the subject.
