i've seen extender arms that go between the trailer and your hitch. extends the length of tow about 3'. allows you to keep your truck on dry pavement while recovering. is not used while actual towing. easiest solution. try west marine, boat us, etc.

Please DO NOT try what EatMoreFish proposes! It is dangerous and could cause great harm to person and property!
yea if your stupid and don't tie the boat down and/or use the boat to push the truck and not to just help it. It is no more dangerous than pulling it out with a chain. You use the boat to just give the truck a little nudge

I question if using the motor would even have any effect unless it was WOT (not advisable while pulling out of water). As a matter of fact it may have the opposite effect. It may try to "lift" the boat on plane and thereby take the weight off the tongue. I've seen the spinning tire situation many a time and usually a couple of guys pushing didn't even help, so a doubt running the motor will. More weight on the tongue and over the axles = more traction. One other note of caution: sometimes spinning your tires like crazy on a steep slick ramp will allow you to slide backwards into the water.
