Remove 2 nuts and washers. Slide cable off the 2 stud post.

Adjust carb to correct idle rpm and shut the motor off

Rotate the barrel nut toward or away from crab stud post until the cable and barrel nut will just slide on to both stud posts. Once adjusted, remove cable off again and rotate the barrel nut one additional full turn more away from carb stud post. The one extra turn will create a slight bit a pressure to hold the carb at idle

Reinstall nuts and washers

Hi, I know you have made great efforts to explain and I thank you.
A bit more clarification please...
"rotate barrel nut toward or away from crab (carb) stud post"..... I know you were kind enough to insert an arrow but where/what exactly is this "barrel nut"? Is it the black circle or part of the cable assembly? and what is the carb stud post please?
My apologies, it's probably pretty straight forward if I was just more familiar with the names.
Thanks again

It is the plastic part that looks like a barrel threaded on the throttle cable.

You need to disconnect the barrel off the engine mount and disonnect the throttle from the carb.

Then follow the directions given above.

The longer the distance of the barrel nut from the throttle arm hole, the more tension is used to push the throttle back to idle.

This is simple throttle cable adjustment steps, the hard part is teaching yourself what each part does and how it affects what problem you are trying to solve.

Same concept as correctly setting the minimum and maximum throttle travel on a new lawn mower generic throttle cable.
