Sorry for asking this sort of question twice, but I thought that I'd be more general so that folks may answer.

How do you find a good johnson outboard mechanic in your area?

I call my name and see if I answer. ;)

If I don't answer, I grab the yellow pages and see who has been around the longest. But the best source may be lakeside taverns (word of mouth).

Thanks Willy, I was waiting for somebody else to make the claim before I did. I am the best outboard mechanic in this area. Just kidding! Never mind the rebuttals.

i'm shade tree, jack of all trades, the way i found the best in town, was hanging around the launch ramp. those old boats, that look like crap, but start on the 1st try. you talk to them. talk to everyone, that's the place where they will tell you who screwed them and who did the best job. compliment them on how great it runs, you get the BS out. they'll tell you. also check better business and chamber of commerce for complaints.
