I happened onto a Mercruiser gimble, but I can't seem to find the serial numbers on it.

How do you tell what it is (Pre-alpha, Alpha 1,2 etc...) ?

Is there a web site that shows the different type or a way to ID it?

Thanks,

H.

Older gimbals have pins that look like nails to hold the pivots in. There'll be 1/8" holes near them for the retaining pin. Newer ones use a pivot that screws into the bell housing (what the drive bolts to). There would be no 1/8" pin holes.

This one has screw-in pins, so would it be an Alpha 1 or?

Thanks,

H.
