How do you pump out a head?

As this is my first season with the boat, I have never pumped out the head before. It may sound like a dumb question, but since I do not have the manual, I was wondering if you could let me know how this is done. It is a manual head, (turn the handle for wet/dry pump) and it goes into a holding tank. No macerator. It is a raw water system. I assume just shut the seacock and pump, but not sure if there is anything else to know. Also how do I know when to stop?

Thanks !

There is a station at my marina, but noone does it for you. Just not sure if there is anything I need to know other than shut the seacock and pump the "stuff".

Thanks
