hmmm what i'd try here is bend up a coathanger to stick in the tank then push the float down with that.

TBird-- couldn't reach the float because of the angles. I pulled the assembly out of the oil and allowed the float to touch the bottom of the rod. No alarm with just the key on. Motor not running.

im not familiar with this particular motor and dont have the schematic, but this should be a very simple circuit with 2 leads to the float switch. so a common sense deduction can be utilized.

using an ohmmeter first check the switch with it removed from the tank, that the switch changes from open to closed (infinite to 0 resistance) as you move the float up and down.

next you want to check you have power and ground in the circuit, with the key on and the plug removed from the tank, probe the leads in the harness. one should be hot. now switch to ohms and check the other lead is grounded, it may show some resistance if the buzzer is on that lead but will not be an open circuit.

if this all checks out then go after the buzzer, otherwise there is a broken or shorted wire.
