Do not see anything that explains this in the owners manual. I have a 1998 C-115 TXRX with a manual choke knob but also a choke solenoid mounted above one of the intakes and would like to know how this system functions. Asking because the choke solenoid came loose (bolts came off) and is hanging and the plunger also became disconnected from the arm amd after looking at it would like to know how it works. Can someone give me the run down on what happens when you pull the manual choke out for a cold start and what that does to the carb and fuel and how it interacts with the choke solenoid/plunger and arm. Could it be that my motor has a combination electric choke via the push in function of the key as well as a manual choke? When and why would you use both, or do they both work in unison. If anyone has ever bought a new choke solenoid assembly, would it come with all the parts ie.. the arm attachment gasket and retaining washer? Thanks.

I figured it out. The electric choke solenoid operated by pushing in on the key and holding it is the primary, the manual choke lever is the backup. I was able to remount the solenoid and adjust it up on the bolts to operate properly. Amazing that I have been using only the manual choke all this time, which deactivates the electric choke. I just need to get used to pushing in on the key to operate the elctric choke now.
